General Information Water Polo is a great team sport.  Most students have never played the game before entering high school.  Come join us! Minimum Requirements for participation All current EVHS students (or enterering freshman) must have an ability to swim safely.  Students are encouraged to enhance swimming ability by participating in external swim and water polo programs. School district requirements can be seen at: EVHS and ESUHSD. There also may be other specifc requirements.  Contact the coach for more info. Practices In respect for other team members and the team as a whole, all players are expected to be on time for our practices and events.  If there is any reason a player needs to be late or must miss a team activity or practice, please contact the coach as soon as possible prior to the activity! Questions/Answers Q: Must I have experience to join the team? A: No.  Most students have never played water polo before entering high school.  It is best to build up some swimming strength and endurance prior to the beginning of the season. Q: If I am an incoming freshman, how to I join the team? A: See how to join. Q: How do I sign up for Water polo this year? A: See how to join. Q: It seems that male water polo players wear low cut tight swim shorts.  Are these shorts required to play on our team? A: No.  The tight 'speedo' style shorts are not required.  However, it is recommended for the extra speed and less possibility of entanglement during play.  A good alternative is to use 'jammer' style swimshorts. Q: What are the costs to particpate? A: There is no cost to participate.  However, team members are expected to purchase their own team swimsuit.  If such expense would prevent a student from participating, please discuss with the coach.  It would be very helpful that Parents/Guardians work with the Team Parent Liason (TPL) to assure that there are enough funds for our team awards banquet at the end of the season.
